Uniform

School uniform is an important part of our school ethos because we believe that it helps pupils develop a sense of community, pride and belonging. To recognise our new academy status and logo, from September 2016 our uniform will be:

Royal blue embroidered sweatshirt or cardigan and/or royal blue embroidered fleece Grey/ black trousers or skirts (shorts or blue summer dresses in warmer weather) White polo shirt.

All of the uniform will be available to be purchased fromHenry Smiths in Shipley.

In order to support all of our families however, the staff and Governors of the school have agreed to provide one sweatshirt or cardigan free to every child; further details about how to collect this offer will be ad-vised in a later newsletter. As in past years, parents who are entitled to free school meals will be given a uniform voucher which is redeemable at Henry Smiths and provides a complete pack including a sweatshirt or cardigan and PE kit. If you believe you are entitled to free school meals but have not yet registered please click here and follow the link.

As part of Wakefield City Academies Trust, children in Year 6 are also given a school blazer and tie to wear. These are made to measure and later on in the term the children in Year 5 will be visited in order to be fitted for their blazers. The aim of this is to raise their profile in school, prepare them for their move to secondary school and enable them to become real role models for the other children. There is no cost to par-ents for the blazers or ties. We are very proud of the achievements of all the children, parents, staff and governors this year to improve our school and we know that these small changes to the uniform will only help us achieve the outstanding status that we are working towards.
